“Watership Down” Hazel Production Cel and Background (1978) - ID: jun26013

A production cel and background setup from the Nepenthe Studios animated cult classic "Watership Down" (1978). Featuring Hazel, the hand-painted cel and background were created at the studio and used during the animation process. The piece is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the film. This setup is seen at about 39:03 when Hazel bravely confronts the sound that Bigwig believes to be the Black Rabbit of Inle. Measuring 10.75”x13” overall, with the character image measuring 8”x4.25”, the setup is in very good condition with light edge and corner wear, slight line fade on some of the details of Hazel’s image.
